Reactive Data’s “'Tiger
Product Group” specialises in all aspects of advanced data
storage. The Tiger Group is able to draw on a 30-year history of
data storage product and subsystem design and manufacture, enabling
us to deliver ISO9000 compliant solutions for government, defence,
aerospace, process control, telecommunications, transport, air traffic
control, media production and other critical applications.
The Tiger Group’s COTS products include a range of Solid
State Disks (Flash and SRAM based), Solid State Recorders and Disk
Emulators for use in sensitive applications where speed, ruggedness,
reliability, predictability and data security are the dominant concerns.
A large number of these products, hard disk, tape and floppy disk
emulators, have been used to replace older products in critical
legacy systems operated by various government agencies and their
primary contractors. Enhanced SSD and FFD products, with industry
standard high performance interfaces, are used in new systems where
conventional solutions are inadequate. Rugged 2.5” and 3.5"
SSD and FFD variants are operated in military aircraft as mission
memory, for Radar/Laser data acquisition, or as surveillance recorders.Other
applications include IFE and digital map systems.
These same Fast Flash Disks replace conventional IDE and SCSI hard
disk products as drop-in replacements using the original host’s
software drivers. They feature rapid access, total predictability,
very high reliability, low power consumption, wide environmental
tolerance and totally silent operation.
For
ground station use at the extreme high performance, random access
end, our "Quickdata" K4 solid state disk range allows
data rates as high as 350MBytes/second, sufficient to saturate the
PCI or Fibre interfaces, for which software and hardware support
is available. This high density battery and disk backed SRAM based
SSD product provides these high transfer rates irrespective of record
length, as a cost efficient alternative to RAID in situations where
bandwidth and short record length is more critical than capacity.
Other new products include the ESP-1 high performance embedded
system platform SBC, with an open Linux architecture and uncommitted
Xilinx FPGA, aimed at interface conversion, fast data acquisition,
data format translation and data storage product emulation. The
open architecture makes this ideal for lifetime support by the defence
industry client.
In addition to the standard product range, the Tiger Group offers
support to Post Design Service (PDS) groups in the primary defence
contractors or government agencies. Typical tasks undertaken include
the redesign and replacement of obsolete disk and/or tape controllers
for legacy systems, to allow the use of current COTS technology,
or the adaptation of interfaces to recognised industry or defence
standards..
