Reactive's Tiger Product Group continues the eight-year history of Tiger Technology Ltd and its charter includes the product support activities of that company and the now dormant Vermont Research Ltd. Reactive includes on its staff key former employees of both companies. Being entirely British owned and managed in the UK, the Group has extended its brief to complement the original range of Tiger products with those of Reactive Data and its partner companies for integration, marketing and sale to its unique customer base.

The integrated management and engineering staff consists of individuals with a proven track record in those disciplines appropriate to the revised charter. These disciplines include the essential software and firmware expertise, but are hardware product oriented. In addition to leading edge competence in all aspects of data storage, the engineering staffs have extensive hands-on experience of legacy systems and the problems of replacing old technology with new.

The group has an impressive collective experience of interface standards, historic and current, international and proprietary. These experiences centre on the FC-AL, SCSI and PCMCIA interface standards and the application of high performance storage technologies to enhance the performance and reliability of an existing host. The group's customers are amongst the most demanding and normally require both confidentiality and the operation of strict project and configuration control. Individual team members have backgrounds in magnetic recording, data acquisition and data storage product design. The original Tiger team was responsible for the design of several military disk drives, together with the 4256, 8256, K2 and K3 Solid State Disks and Emulators (SSDs and SSDEs). The group also supports this equipment with several government and international agencies.

Tiger Technology is now fully integrated within Reactive Data and operates from its premises at Kingsclere, in Hampshire.
